Dr. Bruce W. Dunn was born in Toronto, Canada, but became a citizen of the United States in 1958. He was born again in the Peoples Church of Toronto during his senior year in high school. It was then that he came to the United States for his college and seminary education.
Dr. Dunn was married to Eileen Sheridan. God blessed them with two children, David and Darlene. Darlene is married to Tim Green and they have two children, Bailey and Ellery. David is married to Lisa Kwon and they have two children, Laura and Scott .

He then received his Th.D. from Northern Baptist Seminary in Chicago and hi s D.D. from Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL. Can you do himself or do my math homework - phd thesis turned out better.
After serving churches in Wisconsin, Iowa and Chicago, Dr. Dunn became Senior Pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Illinois. He served at Grace Presbyterian for 40 and a half years and became their Pastor Emeritus in 1991 when he retired. I ncidentally, his retirement was from the pastorate, not from the ministry of the Word, as he continued to teach and preach God's Word until the end of his life on this earth.
It was in 1951, while serving as Senior Pastor at Grace Presbyterian Church that he began the Grace Worship Hour radio ministry. This radio broadcast was heard on over 300 stations across the U.S.A. and Canada and other parts of the world by missionar y radio.
Dr. Dunn received many honors bestowed upon him throughout his many years of ministry. In 1979 Moody Bible Institute of Chicago honored him with the "Pastor of the Year" award. Wheaton College, in its Centennial year, gave Dr. Dunn a special award i n recognition of his "pastoral achievements and his uncompromising stand for the historic Christian faith." In 1991 he was honored by the then mayor of Peoria, IL with a plaque proclaiming November 3, 1991 as "Don't Be A Whimp Day." This came about as t he result of some very pertinent and practical advice that Dr. Dunn had given to James Maloof who was running for mayor in 1985. Mr. Maloof asked Dr. Dunn what advice he had for him in running for the office of mayor of Peoria, and Dr. Dunn responded, "D on't whimp out on the important issues." Mayor James Maloof did not forget Dr. Dunn's very appropriate and practical advice.
Dr. Dunn also gave leadership to a number of ministries outside the local church. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Religious Broadcasters along with being voted into the National Religious Broadcasters Hall of Fame. He served on the Executive Board of the International Ministries to Israel. Dr. Dunn was one of the founders of the Peoria Rescue Mission in Peoria, IL and received the Peoria Rescue Ministries Distinguished Award for his years of service and support.
His uncompromising and clear proclamation of the Word of God reached across the United States. He was a regular Bible conference speaker at Winona Lake Indiana; Bibletown in Boca Raton, FL; Cannon Beach in Oregon; Moody Founders Week in Chicago; Moody
Keswick in St. Petersburg, FL; Cedar Falls Bible Conference in Iowa and Western Pennsylvania Bible Conference. In addition, he was one of the founding leaders and prominent speakers of Moody Bible Institute's national prophecy conferences which began in
1963 and continued until 1998.
